What's on Offer in Detail

Our 2CV Technical Breaks take place in May and September at Chatenet in the South West of France. We are located in the Charente Maritime, 60 kms North of Bordeaux and 40 kms South of Cognac.

The course is aimed at 2CV owners who want to gain mechanical knowledge about their car, be able to service the car and undertake basic repairs.

Beginners Course

4 nights luxury accommodation including use of our heated swimming pool.

Full board basis [three meals a day including wine, beer and soft drinks with meals]

3 days of tuition from qualified motor mechanic and 2CV enthusiast who between them have 35 years experience with 2CV's.

Overalls [yours to keep] and protective gloves if required.

Full use of all tools and equipment during the lessons.

We will provide a note book and pen to make your own notes.

The beginners course will include, what to look for when buying a car, how to service the car in full, fitting brake pads, adjusting brakes, fitting electronic ignition, preparing for MOT test and other items on request.

All technical sessions will take place under cover in our garage area and outside workshop facility.

All sessions will be of a hands on and practical nature and will be carried out on a 2CV and rolling chassis provided by 2CVTech although participants who arrive in their own cars may use them as training vehicles.

Tuition throughout the three days will be carried out at a relaxed pace to suit all participants.

2CV Workshop

6 nights luxury accommodation including use of our heated swimming pool.

4 days in our workshop supervised by qualified motor mechanic and 2CV enthusiast who between them have 40 years experience with 2CV's.

Overalls [yours to keep] and protective gloves if required.

Full use of all tools and equipment during the workshop.

The aim of the 2CV Workshop is for you to undertake work on your own 2CV under our supervision. If you are unable to bring your own car you can either assist another participant on their car or work on one of the 2CV's we have here.

We will make four days available for work on the cars. The workshop will close on the Wednesday when we will provide a taxi service for a full day out in the beautiful city of Bordeaux. Collecting you later in the day and returning to Chatenet in time for your evening meal.

The workshop will be of interest to people who have participated on previous courses or those who have some experience and would feel more confident undertaking repairs with supervision.

Our heated chlorine free swimming pool is ideal to relax in after a long day and before dinner. The pool is open all day so your partner can top up a tan while you get your hands dirty.

Getting here is easy using budget airlines flying to Bordeaux or Angouleme, or by train from London [we will provide a free collection service from these locations]. You could even bring your own 2CV.
